With a nod to her work as an interior designer, Dara’s love of vintage textiles from around the world informs all of her artwork. Painting on paper, canvas, linen, and wood, her love of fabrics and worn surfaces is evident. Inspired by the philosophy of wabi-sabi and embracing beauty found in imperfection, Dara uses layers and layers of paint and wax to create pieces with visual texture and rich patinas.
